Happy ValleyI love this place and the people that work there! When I first walked into the clinic I was impressed. The colors are soothing and fresh, the décor is calming and the clinic is spotless. When I first met my massage therapist, Andrea, I thought "How is this pretty, tiny thing going to be able to give a great deep-tissue massage?" She quickly proved me wrong. That girl kicked my butt!
Once in her room I was instantly transported into another realm. The background music is relaxing, the light comes from several flickering candles and the room is warm and cozy. Andrea gave me a few minutes to change and get under the blankets before she came in and got to work. She worked out every kink, every knot and every tight muscle in my body.
She wasn't chatty as some other massage therapists tend to be. She relies on you and your demeanor to lead the conversation. It's much appreciated, especially when you've had a hard day and just want to close your eyes and be, uh, tortured, but in a good way. I have to say that I've never had any massage from her other than the deep-tissue, but with her skill at that I am sure that her relaxation massages are superior.
The second time I was in the clinic waiting for my massage I had a massive headache. It was the head splitting, I can't see, please kill me kind. That's when I met My'chell, the acupuncturist. She took one look at me and said "You must have a terrible headache."
" Oh great," I thought, "I must look like crap."
"Come on back here; let's try some acupuncture on you. "
Ok, now I was scared. I don't like needles and I'm leery of new people. This was going to be a double whammy. She led me into her room and explained everything she was about to do. She felt around my head and then pointed out several spots and asked if they were where my head hurt.
Ok, so now I'm feeling a little voodoo-ish thing going on, she correctly identified every painful area. I wanted to get up and run but my curiosity got the best of me and I calmed down and tried to think about something pleasant. Before I knew it she had pins stuck all over my head and various parts of my body. I was surprised that it didn't hurt at all! When she was satisfied with her pin placement she turned off the light and left me in the room for a while.
Soon she came back in, removed all of the pins and had me sit up. My headache was gone! That day I became a believer of acupuncture and a believer in My'chell. Best of all, she didn't charge me on that first visit. Now I make my massage appointments every three weeks and have the acupuncture done when I get those seemingly life ending headaches.
I have faith that you'll be impressed not only by the calmness of the clinic, but also by the wowing personalities and abilities of the staff.
